Web Show Round Up (4/18 – 4/24)

Posted by mindofcrazyperson222 on April 26, 2009

Another week, more stuff to talk about.

Unforgotten Realms had its Second Season Finale this week. It wasn’t as good as the end of the first season, but it does bring promise for season three. I just hope the show doesn’t get too random in the future. CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO

ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com celebrated their One Year anniversity this week and made this video to tease about what’s to come.

Due to popular demand, The Nostalgia Critic did a review of TMNT. I thought this was hilarious and a much improvement from last week’s video. However, it seems like I’m part of a minority as there are a lot of people who disliked this review. Why? Because he said mean things about it? It’s a comedy show. Anyway, watch the video and judge for yourself.

Angry Video Game Nerd also had a new video this week, reviewing the Odyssey. It seems I’m part of a minority again as I thought this we informative and hilarious at the same time. However, a lot of people complain that the AVGN of late are nothing like the AVGN of old. Well, I say that’s a good thing because the old AVGN videos sucked.

On Atop the Fourth Wall, Linkara reviewed Daredevil #306 as a follow up to last week’s video. This week’s was a lot funnier and features another one of his hilarious “Previously on…” segments.

ThatGuyWithTheGlasses picked up a new talent, Jew Wario with his series You Can Play This! The featured video is his review of Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu and it is awesome. I really like Jew Wario’s videos and I urge you to support him becoming a full time member of the TGWTG team.

That’s all for this week, but this week’s shout out goes to Anime Jurisdiction and their review of Pokemon 2000. As a first review, these guys are great and I can’t wait to see more from them.

Web Show Round Up (4/11-4/17)

Posted by mindofcrazyperson222 on April 18, 2009

Here’s a weekly recap of the best and worst of some of the regular web shows that I watch. I link and embed the good, but the bad just get mentioned.

The Nostalgia Critic made a video of the 11 Dumbest Superman Movie Moments. It was meh. Compared to most of his videos, I feel that this one fell short. But everyone can’t be perfect, so I’m willing to let this one slide.

Zero Punctuation sucked this week! Yahtzee, while reviewing Mad World for the Wii, forgot that he’s a comedic “reviewer.” There were no jokes and he spend a large amount of time just bashing the Wii, claiming it’s crap (which it’s not).

My favorite video game reviewer, UltraNeko, from Sadie’s Gaming Infection reviewed Malice for the PS2. Although not as good as her excellent review of Flower for the PS3, this one is still quite good.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series released several new videos this week (go watch all of them), but the highlight has to be his parody of Enimien’s “Without Me” with “Without Yugi.” Lyrically, the song is perfect, fitting the beat just right. You can also download the song. Link is in the video description.

Comic book reviewer, Linkara reviewed Daredevil #305 this week. The comic proves that anyone can be a villain and defeat two superheroes. All you need is a costume. Not his best, but still good.Trailer:

This week’s episode of Unforgotten Realms was the second to last episode of season two, and was just there to fill in some final plot points before the finale. Not all that funny, but it will be intriguing to see how this season is going to end.

And finally, smosh released the second part of Anthony’s Death, with Anthony’s Resurrection. It’s quite funny, go check it out.

And that’s all for this week. If there’s any web show that you would like me to watch and give my two cents on, let me know.

Before I end this, a shout out goes to Badalight’s series Junsei Ryou. The first Season is now complete, and it’s not bad. You show go check it out. Here’s Episode One:

YouTube Changing For The Worse?

Posted by mindofcrazyperson222 on April 16, 2009

So, it appears that YouTube will be going under some changes as early as tomorrow.

If all this happens, it would truly result in YouTube screwing over the little guys.
What does this all mean for TwoTwentyTwo Productions?
Who knows, but I’ll try to promote some of the good internet shows weekly.

Dragonball Evolution Craps Out Opening Weekend

Posted by mindofcrazyperson222 on April 13, 2009

So, Dragonball: Evolution opened and the results are in. So, how did it do?
(dragonballprotest)

Yup, it did pretty poorly here in the US. It took eighth place only making $4.65M. (boxofficemojo)
To tell the truth, I’m a little surprised by this because I expected the movie to at least make $10M since I figured people would go to see it just to see just how bad it is. Apparently, that was not the case as most people probably decided to see the movie my other means, like Lapinator mentioned in his review of the movie. Warning: Spoilers

Note: This site does not approve of viewing movies through illegal means.

The movie is not doing well globally either, so it looks like a sequel by 20th Century Fox is unlikely.

GOOD.

Show Me The Money Review – Game Show, Game Show 1

Posted by mindofcrazyperson222 on April 12, 2009

Note: Recently, I’ve been writing blog articles for thatgutwiththeglasses.com. These include posting my older videos with some text commentary as well as some original articles. Once I write a new article, I will post the previous one here. You can find all my articles with all the corresponding links in the new “Articles” section of the site. Newest article can be found here.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Welcome to Game Show, Game Show! The Game Show (blog) where Game Shows compete to see who’s the best Game Show!

If I were to say "Show Me The Money!" what would be the first thing you think of? Well, if you didn’t think of a game show that aired on ABC in 2006, then you’re in the same boat as most of America.

"Show Me The Money" was a Game Show that premieredin the US on ABC in November 2006. The show was a response to the renewed popularity of prime time game shows that was started by "Deal or No Deal." However, like all prime time game shows that premiered after DoND, it just couldn’t match DoND’s success.

The rules of the show were very simple. Wait, did I say simple? I meant very confusing. Unless you saw the rules explanation at the beginning of the show, you would find yourself very lost. Each player was presented with 13 "Million Dollar Dancers" who each had their own stripper pole and scroll containing a certain amount of money. The values of the scrolls were random, but contained either $250,000, $220,000, $200,000, $180,000, $160,000, $140,000, $120,000, $100,000, $80,000, $60,000, $40,000, or $20,000. Before the money value was revealed, the contestant had to answer a question. They were presented with a word or phrase and three letters (A,B, and C). Each letter represented a question that all started with the same staring word or phrase. Upon selecting one question, the contestant then has to either answer or discard that questions for one of the two other questions, but they to eventually answer one and they can’t go back to a discarded question. Once a question is answered, the money value is revealed and the contestant will earn that much money if they answer correctly and lose that much money if they answer incorrectly. Yes, they can have negative money.

Wait a minute. I need to breathe. There’s still more rules to cover.

So, how does the contestant stop playing? Well, they can’t stop willingly. The game ends once the contestant does one of the following:

>Answer six questions correctly.

>Answer six questions incorrectly.

>Have a money value so deep in the negatives, it is impossible to actually win money.

> Answer a killer card question incorrectly.

Killer Card? Oh yea, I forgot to mention about that. You may have noticed that I only named 12 money values for 13 strippers er…dancers. Well, one of the money cards contains the KILLER CARD (cue dramatic evil music). If that card is selected, the contestant goes into sudden death. Only one question is available for answering. If the contestant gets it right, they continue as normal. If they get it wrong, they lose the game and win nothing.

So hopefully, you can see the biggest problem with the show. There’s too much happening at the same time. It’s too much for the viewer to process right away. That and the show was boring to watch with lackluster dancer presentation (you couldn’t see them most of the time) and questions that ranged from moderate difficulty to wow, that is so incredibly easy. Like DoND, the show was produced by Edemol USA and it shows. They try to add some things that made DoND successful and add some new twists as well. The problem is that these twists fall flat on their face.

Finally, we have the host. The show was hosted by William Shatner (yes, Capitan Kirk) mainly because he was big on ABC for his Emmy winning role as Denny Crane on "Boston Legal" (the only time Shatner has actually acted). Shatner added nothing good to the show. He presented all the questions like he was still on the set on "Star Trek" and told the dancers before commercial breaks, "Let’s [insert random dance that no one actually did here]!" Five bucks said Shatner slept with one of the dancers at some point.

Only seven episodes were tapped, but the show got canceled from ABC in only five. This lead to the Game Show Network picking up the show and the canceling it after the same five episodes. As for video and pictures of the show, this is all I could find:

http://www.tv.com/show-me-the-money/show/65610/videos.html

http://www.tv.com/show-me-the-money/show/65610/photos.html

"Show Me The Money" was by no means a good show. It just failed in almost every way. Still, there’s much worse out there and they did try to make the show good. Sometimes, however, try just isn’t good enough.

3/10

Hg Labs Test 3 Is Finally Done!

Posted by mindofcrazyperson222 on April 7, 2009

It’s finally done! The final part of Test 3 is here!

Please make sure you watch this video to the end. Why? You’ll see. Also, I apologize for the lower quality of this video. For some reason, my computer wouldn’t fully produce the video in HD, so I used a lower quality and it worked. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it anyway.

I’ll get to work on more videos right away.

I’m on a roll this week! First three days of the week, and I released three new videos! Will there be an end to this madness? Probably.

Anyway, this video starts the third stage. Compared to Test II, this stage three is a lot better.

Enjoy.
